Le Mas Jaubert is a converted farmhouse built in a traditional Perigordian style close to the village of La Jemaye, some 30 miles north west of Bergerac and 11 miles south of Riberac in the Dordonge region (Where is it?).
The farmhouse is in a rural location and the immediate surrounding area is ideal for walking and cycling. There is a beach at the Lac de la Jemaye, 3.5 miles from the house, where you can windsurf, fish or swim. There are also play areas for children on the side of the lake, and much more. (What can you do there?).
The farmhouse has recently been renovated, and is completely secluded, set in a large garden that is surrounded by the woodlands of the Double Forest. There are local shops in Echourgnac, 2.5 miles from the farmhouse and there is a wide selection of larger shops, supermarkets and restaurants in Riberac and Montpon, which is about a 20 minute drive.
Le Mas Jaubert has a beautiful garden (approx 70m x 100m) with plenty of lawn space and shady trees. The lovely private pool is a good size at 10m x 5m yet is just 85cm deep at the shallow end so children from approximately 4 years old are comfortably within their depth; it is also fitted with a safety alarm. It has its own pool house with a fully equipped summer kitchen, table and chairs, shower and wc. Pool-side sun loungers are also provided and there is a purpose built barbecue.
You are within easy reach of the beautiful town of Brantome on the River Dronne and the sites of the Dordogne valley are a day trip from the farmhouse.
The farmhouse is available for short rents except in July and August when the minimum rental period is one week.
The most convenient local airports are Bergerac, Bordeaux and Perigueux where cars can be hired.
For those wishing to drive from UK the farmhouse is about 8 - 10 hours from the French channel ports.
The accommodation comprises 3 double bedrooms sleeping 6 +infant.
The modern kitchen is very well equipped with a dual-fuel cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There is comfortable living/dining area leading to the gardens
The main bedroom is on the ground floor off the living room and has a queen size bed and an en suite shower room and wc On the first floor there is a mezzanine bedroom which has a vaulted ceiling. There are 2 twin beds in this room, with a small en suite bathroom and wc. This room is ideal for children.
There is exterior access to a self contained double bedroom with an en suite shower room and wc.
Bed linen and towels are provided, and a cot and a high chair are available.
The farmhouse has a TV and there is a quality table-tennis table in an semi-open barn, and there is plenty of garden and pool furniture for eating outside and sunbathing.
For short stays out of high season, a meal is included for the arrival evening.
